Hippolyte Flandrin

Hippolyte Flandrin was a French painter. Together with Henri Lehmann, he was a student of the painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. Encouraged by his teacher, he took part in an exhibition at the Paris Salon when he was barely 18, and his submitted works were awarded the Prix de Rome.
