Collection: Edvard Munch

Edvard Munch (1863–1944) was a Norwegian painter. His most famous work, The Scream, has become one of the most recognizable images in world art. Munch studied at the Royal School of Art and Design and began living a bohemian life under the influence of the nihilist Hans Jæger. He asked him to paint his own emotional and psychological state. This gave rise to his distinctive style.
