Collection: Thomas Hardy
Thomas Hardy was a British writer. In 1871 the first of his famous “Thomas Hardy's Wessex” novels was published, set in the fictional region of Wessex, which is modeled after his native surroundings. The name “Wessex” is derived from the medieval kingdom of the same name. From 1878 to 1881 he lived again in London, and from 1883 again in Dorchester.
